Designed as a complement to NEC's NEAX® 2000 IPS family, The NEAX® IPS-DM supports all the same features and functionality of the NEAX® 2000 IPS, providing voice communication services and features not commonly found in many of today's IP-based telephone systems. It is designed primarily for IP networking but also supports traditional analog and digital trunks for connection to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Pure IP switching provides communication between Dterm IPs and also provides CCIS network connections with up to 255 NEAX® 2000 IPS, NEAX® IPS-DM, NEAX® 2400 IPX and NEAX® IPX-DM systems. TDM switching provides for communication between legacy stations and trunks. Up to three chassis can be stacked providing maximum capacity of 120 legacy TDM ports while still supporting as many as 320 peer-to-peer IP stations. Utilizing the same CPU, line/trunk cards, application processor cards and software as the NEAX® 2000 IPS, the NEAX® IPS-DM also comes equipped for 19" rack mounting and offers superior port density; each chassis only occupies two Rack Units (2RU). NEAX® IPS-DM users have access to hundreds of service features that are used in building unique telephony applications that enhance productivity, reduce operating costs and improve communications efficiency. The innovative modular hardware and software design allows efficient, effective growth within each module from its minimum to its maximum configuration. The NEAX® IPS-DM hardware and software are designed with modularity in mind. Together, these modular building blocks allow customers to initially buy what they need and add capacity and capabilities as the business demands, resulting in a greater degree of cost control for new installations and for upgrades to features, capacities and new software versions.
